A lot can happen in a few seconds.
Monday again and I'm sitting with my morning coffee and thinking about a new quilt what I want to make. But a lot of people in New Zealand have bigger worries than thinking about a quilt. They are still shaking about what happened last weekend, the big earthquake.
We lived and worked in Christchurch for a while and know the area really well. Nobody is hurt but the damage is huge. Just horrible.
You know it can happen but you always thinks it won't.
We are thinking of all the people who are going true a hard time at the moment!

Introducing
This is the first time that I write in my blog.
I am Jacoline, me and my family emigrated to New Zealand from The Netherlands 3 years ago.
I can tell you, we went through some hard times in those 3 years, but we found our dream.
We bought a lovely home close to the beach. I spend a lot of time in our garden which has a lot of fruit trees, a nice vegetable garden and great flowers.
I love to shop in secondhand shops and garages sales are the best invention ever.
My days are filled with craft, cooking , baking and of course my 3 girls.
I try to have a beachwalk every day and on wednesday I join the quilt club.
We are still busy with rebuiling the house to make it a great home.
We like traveling and like to discover our new country.
I keep you updated with new stories, recipes, ideas and pictures every week.

Yes, it's amazing that nobody got hurt!
Moet een beangstigende 'few minutes' zijn geweest voor de bewoners van Christchurch.

I hope people can recover from what they went through and help each other to rebuild everything, what got damaged. It will be a massive job, but when we put into perspective that nobody was hurt, we should call it a miracle. Just be patient and carry on.
Lien, I am so happy that you were not close and also relieved that no one died in the earthquake, I saw the damage on the news. The moment I heard of it, I thought of you and yours.
I do not get to post comments on your blog as often as I wish, your shop is really fabulous, you have presented all your items really well, and I love the frame you made and those items from the car boot sale are great finds. Big hugs, Margie.
