Crochet.

First of all, do you like my new blog layout. I thought it needed a bit of an update.

I don't no what it is with me and the bath mat but I love making them at the moment. Maybe because it is winter here, we don't have a heater in the bathroom and my feet are very cold.
I made this one out of an old sheet that I teared apart and with a big crochet needle I went round and round and round. As backing a piece of the old sheet as well so it will match perfect.
It was easy to make and went quite fast.
I made some for my shop as well.

I love looking in other peoples houses. I think we all do, so here is a little look in our en suite bathroom.

And last but not least a look in our kitchen. This is how it what it is at the moment. A big mess. But it will be beautiful in a few weeks time. I'm busy painting the doors.

Both bath mats (I had a peek on etsy!) are really great - I love the other side as well. They seem soft and inviting to stand on them :)

Still can't believe that it's winter in New Zeland... Does it get really cold? I had a friend who used to live there and she said that the climate is more or less like in Lithuania (that's where I am from), but will you get snow?

Love the new look (must update mine soon too!) and I love the new bath mat. I got a really inspiring book from the library about crochet with things other then normal yarn and big hooks - this looks like a great thing to try - if I may? x

Yes I love a white background. I think it is less stressful to read and more professional. Congratulations on moving along. That rug is so, so beautiful. Absolutely the bees knees!! Cherrie

Mooie lay out! Heb jij die quilts zelf gemaakt?
En herken ik daar een wieglakentje van de Hema in je badkamer?
Ik heb nl een lakentje dat er precies zo uitziet :-)

Leuke badmat, geweldig idee.

Prachtig! XO Heidi

I love the new layout and header, and your bathroom is fantastic, very nice mat and all the more special that you made it yourself. Good luck with the kitchen. Happy Summer Solstice. hugs Margie.

The bathmat is so pretty...I started one but never finished it using a cotton knit fabric... I think I like your idea better though...Your new blog look is great by the way...

Introducing

This is the first time that I write in my blog.
I am Jacoline, me and my family emigrated to New Zealand from The Netherlands 3 years ago.
I can tell you, we went through some hard times in those 3 years, but we found our dream.

We bought a lovely home close to the beach. I spend a lot of time in our garden which has a lot of fruit trees, a nice vegetable garden and great flowers.

I love to shop in secondhand shops and garages sales are the best invention ever.
My days are filled with craft, cooking , baking and of course my 3 girls.
I try to have a beachwalk every day and on wednesday I join the quilt club.

We are still busy with rebuiling the house to make it a great home.
We like traveling and like to discover our new country.
I keep you updated with new stories, recipes, ideas and pictures every week.
