F is for Feijoa jam

It is Easter weekend and wet, very wet here. So a good time to spend most of the day in the kitchen. I made Feijoa jam. We have a BIG very BIG Feijoa tree. The kids are selling them but before they sell them all I made some feijoa jam. Really easy and very yummy.

Here the recipe:

1 kg feijoas, peeled and sliced

1/4 cup water

3 cups sugar

zest and rind of 1 lemon

Stir till sugar is dissolved, let onto a steady boil for 10 minutes till set!

E is for Excited

The E is for exiting and I must say i am exited. Most of you know that I have a gift shop on the Kapiti Coast in New Zealand and I can tell you now that my on-line shop is open as well. A lot of work was involved with making the website, I had a good team behind me an they did a great job. Without them there was no website, I am absolute not good with computers at all.

We had a photo shoot on a beautiful sunny day here on the coast and I think they photo's look great. But if you want to seen more have a look here:

So I think you understand why I am so excited, I have a great shop and an on-line shop as well.

Happy shopping!

Introducing

This is the first time that I write in my blog.
I am Jacoline, me and my family emigrated to New Zealand from The Netherlands 3 years ago.
I can tell you, we went through some hard times in those 3 years, but we found our dream.

We bought a lovely home close to the beach. I spend a lot of time in our garden which has a lot of fruit trees, a nice vegetable garden and great flowers.

I love to shop in secondhand shops and garages sales are the best invention ever.
My days are filled with craft, cooking , baking and of course my 3 girls.
I try to have a beachwalk every day and on wednesday I join the quilt club.

We are still busy with rebuiling the house to make it a great home.
We like traveling and like to discover our new country.
I keep you updated with new stories, recipes, ideas and pictures every week.
