Birthday weekend

On Friday our oldest daughter turned 15. It's always special to celebrate a birthday for the girls because it is there special day and for us to remember the day that they were born. I think you never forget such a special moment. And because she is the oldest, she made me a Mum, that's super!
I always make the birthday cake my self and this year I made one in a love heart shape with fresh strawberries. It's so strange because she is born in the Netherlands and we celebrated her birthday always in the winter. On the day she was born we had some snow and now we are living in New-Zealand and it is almost summer. We had great weather last weekend. It's hard to understand that it's November. But I can tell you fresh strawberries in November are great.
And with some fresh flower decoration next to every diner plate it looked great.

On Saturday we had the school fair, where we had a little stall. It was great fun . We are planning one more market before Christmas. If the weather is like last weekend we are more than happy!

Gefeliciteerd met je dochter! 15 jaar.

Hoi Jacoline,

Heel bijzonder!

Good morning - your blog is so nice to read and you are such a clever and busy lady. I have run a few stalls recently and really enjoy it too. That cake looked superb - a work of art!

Introducing

This is the first time that I write in my blog.
I am Jacoline, me and my family emigrated to New Zealand from The Netherlands 3 years ago.
I can tell you, we went through some hard times in those 3 years, but we found our dream.

We bought a lovely home close to the beach. I spend a lot of time in our garden which has a lot of fruit trees, a nice vegetable garden and great flowers.

I love to shop in secondhand shops and garages sales are the best invention ever.
My days are filled with craft, cooking , baking and of course my 3 girls.
I try to have a beachwalk every day and on wednesday I join the quilt club.

We are still busy with rebuiling the house to make it a great home.
We like traveling and like to discover our new country.
I keep you updated with new stories, recipes, ideas and pictures every week.
