Party time

With some birthday parties coming up I thought better make some new buntings. In The Netherlands we call them "slingers" and the are always a real party topper. When we came to New Zealand I brought some "slingers" with me but they are not the best ones anymore.
So it is time for a new one.
I looked through my pile of fabric and found some nice fabrics that match the colours in the house as well, spend a afternoon behind the sewing machine and we are ready for the parties.
I was cutting triangles and more triangles, more than enough for two long buntings, 7 meters each and there are still a lot of triangles left, so I like to make one to stock up my Etsy shop.

In between I did some painting. We've got a old wooden travel box from our neighbour. It was a dark brown smelly box but in a good condition and very use full. So there was my white paint
again and look what I made of it.

'Slingers' are beautiful aren't they. I always associated them with car yards and petrol stations but now some very beautiful ones are being made for in the homes. I love your box too. It looks strong enough to sit or stand on. Cherrie

repity is the word verification today - that is what you have done to your box!

Hele leuke, mooie slingers! Gezellig ook! En de foto's zijn ook top! (is je man ook content met de roze kleuren als hij jarig is?? hihi)

Introducing

This is the first time that I write in my blog.
I am Jacoline, me and my family emigrated to New Zealand from The Netherlands 3 years ago.
I can tell you, we went through some hard times in those 3 years, but we found our dream.

We bought a lovely home close to the beach. I spend a lot of time in our garden which has a lot of fruit trees, a nice vegetable garden and great flowers.

I love to shop in secondhand shops and garages sales are the best invention ever.
My days are filled with craft, cooking , baking and of course my 3 girls.
I try to have a beachwalk every day and on wednesday I join the quilt club.

We are still busy with rebuiling the house to make it a great home.
We like traveling and like to discover our new country.
I keep you updated with new stories, recipes, ideas and pictures every week.
