New old chairs

Before the big bang!

With new fabric.

I bought 4 chairs on a garage sale.
One green, one red, one dark brown and one creme.

And now they are all the same.

I covered some great old chairs with some new floral fabric.
It was an absolutely must because we went right true it, the chairs are on our veranda but the sun made the fabric fade away.
I bought the chairs a long time ago in a second hand shop an the other set of 4 on a garage sale just for $2.50 each. Don't you think they look great.

They aren't great! They are fabulous! (and because they were so cheap, and now so nice they are super-fabulous)

What a lovely job you've done!
I have some really old deck chairs that I had bought from the recycling shop just for this very same purpose, but alas I have been very slack and they are sitting patiently for me in my garden shed.
I was wanting to try a patchwork effect on mine, maybe one day!! lol
Love, love, love your blog and have been meaning to drop by and say hello :)

Just found your lovely blog and realise you were just 'down the road' when we lived at Waitarere. The deck chairs look beautiful, I too found some old fold up stools at a garage sale in Levin and need to recover them. I've not been able to find any deckchair canvas maybe you could let me know where you got yours? I'll definitely be back to see how you are getting on.x

Introducing

This is the first time that I write in my blog.
I am Jacoline, me and my family emigrated to New Zealand from The Netherlands 3 years ago.
I can tell you, we went through some hard times in those 3 years, but we found our dream.

We bought a lovely home close to the beach. I spend a lot of time in our garden which has a lot of fruit trees, a nice vegetable garden and great flowers.

I love to shop in secondhand shops and garages sales are the best invention ever.
My days are filled with craft, cooking , baking and of course my 3 girls.
I try to have a beachwalk every day and on wednesday I join the quilt club.

We are still busy with rebuiling the house to make it a great home.
We like traveling and like to discover our new country.
I keep you updated with new stories, recipes, ideas and pictures every week.
