Party weekend

We had a real party weekend. On Sunday our little baby turned 10 and we celebrated it with a real girl party. And on Monday it was my birthday, I don't want to say it to loud but I turned 41.
Because we live far from our family (20.000 Km) they don't come to the parties anymore. In the beginning it was hard for the girls, but now we are used to it. So we invited a group of friends from school for a real girl party. It was great fun.
They decorated their own cupcakes with cream and lollies. We had a treasure hunt in the dunes and along the beach, had a swing on the enormous swing at the beach and have great fun blowing enormous foam bubbles that I saw here.

I made a party pinata from paper maché and tissue paper. Fun to make and the girls enjoyed it. After the party André enjoyed the left over from the pinata as well.

Lieke made the "Thank You" party bags for her friends and of course there was some nice cake.

Happy Birthday!
You're a spring chicken, a couple of years older than me, and i feel like I'm still in my twenties! That's a great idea, making your own pinata! Never occurred to me before. I love the way you've decorated it, fabulous!
Love Vanessa xxx (do you mind if i knit)

Well done I needed a few ideas for my son's party - the bubble blowing thingy looked really good! I will also make a pinata as he has always wanted one to beat up at his party! Thanks for popping by all the time. I really love receiving your comments.

Thank you!

Introducing

This is the first time that I write in my blog.
I am Jacoline, me and my family emigrated to New Zealand from The Netherlands 3 years ago.
I can tell you, we went through some hard times in those 3 years, but we found our dream.

We bought a lovely home close to the beach. I spend a lot of time in our garden which has a lot of fruit trees, a nice vegetable garden and great flowers.

I love to shop in secondhand shops and garages sales are the best invention ever.
My days are filled with craft, cooking , baking and of course my 3 girls.
I try to have a beachwalk every day and on wednesday I join the quilt club.

We are still busy with rebuiling the house to make it a great home.
We like traveling and like to discover our new country.
I keep you updated with new stories, recipes, ideas and pictures every week.
